Commonwealth Games

Augmented Reality (AR)

This augmented reality guide to the games was distributed to children, at all venues, across the Commonwealth Games.

Activities helped children to understand the history of the commonwealth, the range of sports, how athletes fuel their bodies and a range of other sporting, geographical and historical topics.

We were tasked with creating the learning strategy, shaping activities and leading content design and supporting the branded design rollout of the print materials.

About this experience

As well as the augmented reality experience (AR) Perry’s Trail, young sports lovers enjoyed completing quizzes, crosswords and creative activities.

User-testing sessions with the target audience were held to paper prototype and co-design activities. This  helped to ensure all content was comprehended, achievable and… fun!

This AR game helped children to understand the key themes of the Games, including sustainability.

This activity helped children to understand the range of sports showcased at Birmingham 2022.

This stylised world map helped children to associate facts with countries and their flags to understand the the countries of the commonwealth.
